Queen Magazine - Jean Shrimpton Ian Yeomans
Queen Magazine -
April 3rd 1962
Cover model: Jean Shrimpton by Ian Yeomans
A thin issue but rather important. This is the first of two times that Jean appeared on the cover of Queen in April 1962. The cover star for 2 issues in a row. Though far from glamorous. Jean wears a Scarlett red Mackintochs by Alligator and boots.
Jean does not appear within. This cover predates Jean's very first Vogue cover two months later, and we believe that this is Jean's first major fashion magazine cover having appeared on the cover of these lesser-known titles the year previously.
Within this issue.
Saga of a soulful scottie - An unusual editorial by Eve Arnold influenced on advertisements spotted within the English press.
The all-change blouse, 8 pages of fashion photographed by Sandra Lousada. Quite possibly Celia Hammond
Condition:
Very Good. Again, a reminder that the content of this issue is rather thin. But for Jean Shrimpton collectors this is the earliest of all our 'Queen Jean' covers, and frightfully hard to find for fans of the original supermodel
