This would appear (to the best of my knowledge to date, according to my complete Sunday Times collection) to be the first time that a Donald McCullin image was used on the cover.

From the years 1964-1966, there are a number of covers for The Observer, but this would seem to be Don McCullins first cover for the Sunday Times.
